In order to continue the Navy Memorial’s mission during this unprecedented time, they have developed a new virtual program entitled “SITREP Speaker Series,” which will provide the opportunity for senior Navy leadership to address a national audience, and take questions on the record, about what our Navy is doing to defend our freedom and protect our way of life.
They will host our first SITREP on Thursday, May 14 at 4pm EDT featuring the Deputy Chief of Naval Operations for Operations, Plans and Strategy (N3/N5), Vice Admiral Phil Sawyer, and the Surgeon General of the Navy, Rear Admiral Bruce Gillingham. During this event, the Navy’s “Operations Officer” and Senior Medical Officer will provide an update on what has been learned during the COVID pandemic and how our Navy is adjusting. Specifically, Vice Admiral Sawyer will elaborate on the changes to our operations, both ashore and afloat. Rear Admiral Gillingham will discuss how Navy’s medical providers have adjusted to confront the pandemic and how medical guidance has changed based on lessons learned. Save my spot!
